Redback Premium Arena Groomer at Equifest 2026

Redback at Equifest 2026: the Premium Arena Groomer in action

Equifest 2026 ran from 16 to 18 October at Claudelands Events Centre in Hamilton, and Redback was there with the Premium Arena Groomer on display at Site 03.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to look over the adjustable tines, the levelling section, the rear roller and the adjustment points, and to see how simple the machine is to set up and run behind a quad.

In the main arenas at Equifest 2026

The best way to judge an arena groomer is to watch it work on a real surface. During Equifest, the Premium Arena Groomer worked the main arenas between classes with Peter Macdonald of Arena Services New Zealand, who uses the machine professionally.

The tines work the surface, the levelling section evens it out and the rear roller firms it back down, leaving it ready for the next class.

$500 sponsorship draw

Entries for our $500 sponsorship for a New Zealand pony club, riding group or equine team have now closed. Thanks to everyone who nominated a group.

We’re drawing the winner now and will contact the winning group directly. Keep an eye on our Facebook page, where we’ll announce the winner.

See how it performs

If you missed it on the day, watch Peter Macdonald’s video below on how the Premium Arena Groomer performs across a range of arena surfaces.

Gear for the rest of the property

Alongside the Premium Arena Groomer, Redback makes the Arena Rake Groomer for day-to-day raking and levelling of sand arenas, in five widths from 1.1m to 2.45m. Our Triangle & Chain ATV Harrows look after paddocks and pasture, so equestrian property owners can keep both the riding surface and the land around it in good shape.

Arena Grooming: The Expensive Mistakes You Want to Avoid

Ahead of Equifest, we also shared some practical advice on the Equifest website about the arena maintenance mistakes that can become expensive over time.

From working a surface too deeply to allowing inconsistent footing or compaction to build up, small maintenance issues can affect both the performance and longevity of an arena.
